Student refugees is a student run initiative which provides asylum seekers and refugees with assistance in applying for higher education in Iceland.
This service is provided through this website, via email and in person at the application café. The application cafés are open sessions in a cosy environment where people can come to work on applications with guidance. Volunteers will undergo training from team leaders and specialists, so no prior experience is needed, only interest, availability and ambition.
Responsibilities:
Plan, host and participate in application cafés, about once a month.
Answer questions and contact refugees via email.
Update website.
Communicate with and meet up in your team of volunteers.
Collect data on progress.
